Company Overview

Alexander Contracting Co., Inc. is a third-generation site development and highway contractor based in Columbus, Georgia. The Company was started by Lon C. Alexander, Sr. in 1953. The Company was incorporated in 1965 under its’ present name with Lon C. Alexander, Jr. as President. Today, the Company is led by Lon, Jr. as Chairman of the Board and Lon C. Alexander, III as President. D. Raines Jordan, CPA is Vice-President/Chief Financial Officer and James O. Kelly is Vice-President/Equipment Manager.

The Company employs over 240 people to build projects in a one hundred mile radius around Columbus, covering West Central Georgia and East Central Alabama. Our projects include highways, shopping centers, schools, hospitals, hotels, office complexes, industrial sites, apartments and residential subdivisions. These projects range in size from $500,000 up to almost $50 Million. The highway projects include all components of building new roads and widening and improving existing roads. The site development projects include earthmoving, precision grading, storm and sewer drainage, water systems, base and paving, concrete work, grassing and erosion control.

Our staff of estimators, project managers, superintendents and foremen has a combined 500 years of experience in the construction field. This experience allows us to take on highly complex projects which we are able to complete in a timely and efficient manner. Because of our well-qualified and highly-skilled employees, we are able to maintain the highest standards of quality in performing our work.

We maintain a modern fleet of heavy construction equipment consisting of over one hundred individual units including dozers, excavators, wheel loaders, off-road trucks, backhoes, motor graders, rollers and lasers. Our truck fleet consists of over seventy-five units including tandem dumps, low-boys, flat-beds, service trucks and pick-ups.
